Mission

Why this site exists

Most VPN review sites read like they were written by someone who has never used a VPN. Generic feature lists. Identical "top 10" rankings. Same three products recommended everywhere with suspiciously similar pros and cons.

This site is built on a different premise: recommend products after actually testing them, on real US connections, for the use cases US readers care about. If something doesn't work, say so. If a cheaper option beats a more expensive one, recommend the cheaper one.

Our Methodology

How We Test VPNs

Real subscriptions, real US connections, real test scenarios. No press access. No special treatment. Every VPN we recommend has been tested by us personally.

Real Subscriptions

We buy at retail price like any user. No press access, no provider influence on the verdict.

US Connections Only

All tests on real US hardware, US ISPs, US streaming services. No simulated environments.

Independent Verification

Speed via Speedtest.net, leaks via dnsleaktest.com. Verifiable methodology, not just marketing.

Transparency

How we make money

This site is funded by affiliate commissions. When you click a link to a VPN provider and subscribe, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. This is disclosed in full on our affiliate disclosure page, and at the top of every article that contains affiliate links.

What we DO

  • Recommend products we've actually tested
  • Disclose affiliate relationships clearly
  • Update reviews when prices or features change
  • Use the rel="sponsored" tag on every commercial link (FTC-compliant)
  • Choose the cheaper product when it's genuinely better

What we DO NOT do

  • Rank VPNs based on who pays the highest commission
  • Write positive reviews in exchange for payment
  • Accept sponsored posts from VPN companies
  • Use AI to generate content (every article is human-written)
  • Hide the disclosure in the footer or sidebar

If a VPN with lower commissions is genuinely better for a specific use case, that's the one we recommend. Writing the opposite would eventually show in our traffic and reputation, and we'd rather have readers who come back.

Standards

Editorial standards

Every article goes through fact-checking before publishing.

Prices, commissions, and features verified at publishing time and rechecked on a scheduled refresh cycle.

Affiliate links are clearly marked with rel="sponsored" per FTC guidelines.

Every article is original and based on our own testing, we don't scrape or rewrite other sites' content.
