Surfshark’s current Trust Center lists independent reviews of its no-logs commitments and security infrastructure. The most useful distinction is scope: an assurance report about logging is not the same thing as a penetration test or a review of a browser extension.

Privacy: what the current audit evidence supports
Surfshark describes itself as a no-logs VPN. The useful question is what independent evidence is available for that claim, and what it does not prove.
Deloitte assurance reports. Surfshark says Deloitte issued no-logs assurance reports in 2023 and 2025. Its current Trust Center says the 2025 review covered the policy commitments and reports that no activity, IP-address, session, bandwidth, or connection-time data is stored. The full reports are available to Surfshark account holders, so readers should treat the published summary as provider-reported evidence of an independent assessment, rather than a substitute for the full report.
What this means in practice. A no-logs assurance report can support confidence that a provider’s stated controls were assessed. It does not make any VPN anonymous, prevent websites from identifying an account you sign into, or remove the need to secure your devices and accounts.

Performance: what independent reviewers report

TechRadar and Cybernews both rate Surfshark's WireGuard implementation as top-tier in their 2025 and 2026 benchmark coverage. TechRadar names Surfshark the best cheap VPN of 2026 and places it as the second-best overall VPN, with speed cited as a strength rather than a compromise. The recurring pattern across these independent sources is that WireGuard holds a high share of base connection speed on geographically close servers, fast enough for 4K streaming, video calls, and everyday use. OpenVPN, available for restrictive networks, is slower, as it is on every VPN.

Streaming and device support
Streaming services set their own territory, account, and device rules. A VPN is useful for protecting a connection on public Wi-Fi or while traveling, but it does not create viewing rights or guarantee that a service will work from every location.
Surfshark supports VPN apps on platforms including Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, iOS, Android TV, Apple TV, and Fire TV. It also documents router setup for compatible hardware. Device support
Surfshark provides apps for major desktop, mobile, and supported TV platforms, and documents router setup for compatible hardware. Smart DNS is no longer offered: Surfshark ended support for that feature on February 2, 2026. Choose a supported VPN app or router setup only when it fits the service terms and your device.
Pricing and renewal terms
Surfshark currently sells Starter, One, and One+ bundles on one-month, 12-month, and 24-month terms. The bundle contents and introductory discounts can change, so the provider’s checkout page is more reliable than a static price table in a review.
Read the renewal terms. Long-term promotions can have a different renewal price after the first term. Before paying, check the total charged today, the renewal price, the renewal date, and the cancellation steps for the payment method you use.

Introductory and renewal prices can differ sharply, support feedback is mixed, and Surfshark temporarily processes connection details such as a user ID and/or IP address and timestamps.
